Peace and Holiness

Hebrews 12:14 “Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.”

This scriptue speaks to me this day as I study for the Sunday School lesson for June 14th. My friends I confess to you I do not always have peace with everyone in my heart.

I struggle to stay a peace with someone so I avoid them, this is Satan seeing my weakness and taking me off track to ignore the call to holy living.

I am a pretender.

My altar today is at my quiet spot in my home; and I have confessed my sin.

I claim Jesus Christ at the cross and know that this sin in me is forgiven.  Paraphrasing Jesus words to the sinner, "My sister, go in peace your sin is forgiven, now sin no more."

For the full lesson on Peace, Holiness and God's wisdom, join me on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m at Living Hope Free Methodist Church in West Unity Oh.

I don't see you as a pretender. God doesn't either. You are growing in Christ and more "Christlike" every day. We are all this same journey together. As we continue the Holy Spirit points out areas where we can improve. That's what is happening here. Now, work on staying at peace with people you are avoiding. Soon you will check that off your list and begin working on something else. Love you, Bev!

I believe this is true with all of us as we work through troubles in our life. One great thing is that God has revealed it to you and so now the work begins. God can only work with us when we are honest with ourselves and with him. He knows our inmost struggles AND "He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it to the end"
