I am a Princess.

Do you ever give much thought to "who you are?". I don't mean your name or your career title.

Who were you created to become?

Lately God has been doing a huge work in me on this subject. I recognize that I am Jackie, a mother, a wife, a friend, a daughter,  a mother-in-law, and much more. But who am I in God's eyes?

I worry so much about the way I look. Am I fashionable? Do I fit in. Do I look "old". What do people see when they look at me?  Am I good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, and on and on.......

God has been teaching me that none of this matters because I am His Princess. He is My King!

Do I act like a Princess? Webster tells us that a Princess is " a female member of a royal family; a daughter of a KING. A woman who is treated with special attention and kindness."

In my daily activities do I act like a Princess, representing my Father's kingdom?  Do I speak in a kind and mild manner or do I raise my voice to get my point across? Do I give willingly of my time and talents? Do I love without conditions?  And a BIG one for me is the way I dress represent my King or am I dressing according to wordly ways? Most days, except for Sunday, I just throw on clothes without a thought of who I am to be representing. I don't want the responsiblities that come with being part of The King's family.

Esther 4:14  "And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?'

Lord, My KING, please help me in my daily walk to represent your kingdom in the way you would have me do, in all things, according to your will! Thank you for making me your Princess!!

Thanks Jackie for your perspective on dress. I know I am old fashion, but I have always told my kids that on Sunday you dress better to respect the Lord's Day. I love the song, "give of your best to the Master". And that always goes for my clothing also. I don't like to wear thing that have printed words on them on Sunday to distract someone from the word of God., I think that it is important to wear clean clothes and modesty to me is also important. Not everyone has to agree with me but for me this is the way I honor the Lord's house.

Thank you Jackie for this post. I have been reviewing my wardrobe lately and do not like my Sunday clothes. Goodwill and I are becoming friends! My everyday dress at home is not becoming either and I need a hair cut!
