Be Ready to give an answer for your hope

God's word tells us that we should "be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh us a reason of the hope that is in us with meekness and fear" (1 Peter 3:15)"  These words have generated a desire in my heart to think deeply about what response I would be ready to give about these difficult issues in society today.  Such as, this recent decision by the Supreme Court about homosexual marriages.  I, like many of you might be tempted to just keep quiet not knowing what the best thing to say would be.  But there is another passage in God's word that tells me this is a sin. (If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them. James 4:17)

Well--------I asked God to show me what to say.  After all, He has the answers written in His word.  In 1 Corinthians 6:9 the word definitely points out that homosexuality is wicked and sinful BUT there were those that Paul had been communicating with that had been washed from this sin and set free.  This goes against where our sinful world is headed by saying if it feels good do it.  He also states in chapt. 7 that for some it is good that a man should not marry.   I believe if we should have these tendencies in our life, then we should take on an attitude of celibacy.

There are people in our churches all over that are trying to change the way the church preaches about this even calling homosexuals into the pulpit.  But how can we dispute what God's word clearly says AND call ourselves a church of God.

God help us to look to you for the answers to be ready to give a reason for our hope.

I can HATE the sin and LOVE the sinner BUT I do not have to celebrate the sin. I have family who are gay and they expect me to be happy for them that this law has passed. To celebrate and be joyful. I LOVE THEM but in NO WAY, SHAPE or FORM will I celebrate that SIN has become law in our land!

At church we have been using Ezekiel 22:20 as ourv theme. Basically 6000 years ago God was looking for men to stand in the gap and speak up against the sins of Judah. He could find no one. Today, we are being asked the same thing- to fill the gap. I am opne who will do that. Will you join me?

I posted on facebook: I choose to remain true to the Supreme Creator of the Universe. I do not have to have an opinion of this decision. I just do not have to judge, I just have show love.
In response to the article I poste there too. "How will you respond to the Supreme Court's decision on gay marriage?
I am not of this world for I am of Jesus Christ.
