3 D's

First, let me say these 3 D's are from Satan not from the Word.

Discouraged - it's so typical this time of year to become discouraged - winter has lasted far too long - spring is teasing us - and I want to get out - I want draw from the energy of the sun. There is a far greater drawing I can turn to in this time of discouragment - to go the the Word - and to listen. God told the Israelites " not be discouraged." I Thessalonians has the theme of encouragment from chapter 3 -5. "We sent strengthen and encourage you in your faith." 3:2 "Therefore encourage each other with these words. 4:18 "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up..."

I only recieve encouragement/comfort when I am truthful of my feelings; the energy I want to draw from comes from the Son of God and my family of Christ followers.

Depressed - a dark place where Satan loves to see me/you. Pills are not the answer, I can personally testify to that, dulling the pain, sleeping it away has never worked. God's love and understanding are the healing factors for depression.  Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Abba, Father, he said, 'everthing is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.'" Mark 14:36 Luke recorded, Jesus sweat drops of blood when he prayed this, I imagine this was deep depression for Christ, yet he only pled for His Fathers will. Previous to this prayer he told the disciples, "Pray that you will not fall into temptation." Luke 22:39  They fell asleep, I fell asleep for awhile too. Praise God, I am now awake and know to fight the temptation of depression; for it is always with me and it is God alone who sends me help to deny it's hold on me.

Disappointment - as I walk through this path of life I have and will have disappointments - it is how I respond to these disappointments that make the difference. I have learnt much from a study with women and the teachings of Lysa Terkeurst in It's Not Supposed To Be This Way. Disappointments can lead me into sin - I must go to God and give them to Him- it is then He can walk with me through this troubled time in life. We must take our own disappontments and come along others who have thier own disappointments and say, "me too." "Therefore as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." Col. 3:12

When life's 3 D's knock on your heart; turn to the God of Truth and those who are your greatest mentors in your walk with Chirst.

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner washed by your blood; worthy to be called a sister in Christ. It is through you and by you that I come to the throne of the Father and I give all the praise, glory and honor to you. I need you daily as I fight the temptations of sin and I pray for my fellow sisters and brothers who are fighting with me. In your precious name, Amen

The three "D" s are something everyone can relate to. Just saw this and looked out the window and realized it is spring. Read the first line about energy. Blessing and Praising God for this change in the weather and a chance to once again refresh my soul. Thanks, Bev for a great blog.
